One of the most controversial plays to hit the big time in the last year, "Decision" was written by no less innocent an author than Edward Chodorov, producer of such scripts as "Junior Miss" and "My Sister Elleen." In this attempt Chodorov does not stoop to satisfying the public for the sake of pecuniary gains, but launches out on an attack of the fascist interests at work in promoting social unrest in America's crowded boom towns.
Although it is well written, well staged, and well acted, "Decision" is not in the class of light entertainment to which theatre audience have lately been subjected. "Decision" is a powerful news paper editorial.
Chodorov implicates such men as United States Senators in pointing to fascist influences stirring up trouble in America. He is obviously treading on dangerous ground in making his statements.
"Decision" wasn't too popular when it was in Boston before. A big hit on crowded Broadway, the play is being staged here again by a road company. Their acting, good on the whole, has tended to be a little overdone in the earlier performances.
