Indicating a minimum respite of one week between spring and summer terms, the official College Calendar for 1944-45, recently approved by vote of the Corporation, also puts an end to rumors favoring an extended summer vacation such as was created by last year's semester change.
With the last examination for the spring term scheduled on Saturday, June 24, at least 11 days will elapse before the first meeting of courses starts the summer work, but V-12 men will report on Saturday, July 1, and Monday's beginning of the academic year will probably bring all other students to Cambridge for registration.
Commencement June 29th
After a nine day reading period, examinations under the Faculty of Arts and Sciences will begin on Thursday, June 15. Although no exercises have been held for recent graduating classes, June 29 is listed as Commencement Day.
Following the standard 16-week term which is designed to meet Navy specifications, a recess will last from Sunday, October 22 through Tuesday, October 31, V-12 men will again report early on the first of the month, with course meetings renewed on November 6.
