THE HARVARD SCUTTLEBUTT

COMPANY B

More Walter Winchellism without his inimitable style. There seems to be a general let-down of news from Company Baker this week, but with more news about the social end. Rumors and facts flying around--rumors verified, and old news dug up.

Hearing that "O B" O'Brien was engaged, a further check indicated that that had been true, but that he has been married for about two weeks. Although this is not the official announcement, it is stated as a fact that Richard Dennis will be married next Sunday. We do not know the lucky girl, but we wish her luck.

Irving Karess's marriage was honored by his platoon mates who gave a party for him at the Oxford. Grille last week. With Karl King as chairman and John Horne as MC a boisterous time was had by all. As gifts he received a sterling silver sugar and cream set, a leather traveling clock and other gifts we can not mention.

Away from the nuptial side of things we, with others in the company, still wonder whether Mike Conlon has found Lt. (j.g.) Charlie Noble.

Members of the Seventh Platoon softball team, after a disappointing showing with the present Company "A" are now trying to salve their wounds and pride by playing against the enlisted men.
