Dear Tula;
So sorry about no letter last week but the editorial blue pencil got to scratching and from the way the letter looked after they were done . . . there wasn't enough message left to put on the postage stamp. . .
W. H. BARTLEY reported no some of the Lads in Company Easy so I thought I'd pass it on to you. . . JOHN McMANUS, a former yeoman, had been a Boston College Track Star and still makes his Saturday nite runs into Boston. . . DAVE HORWITZ was in the First Marine Division on Guadalcanal in late '42 and spent some time on a seaplane tender in the South Pacific. . . CLIFF HARRIS was a corpsman on a troop transport that made a tour of Casablanca, Australia, New Zealand, India and the Panama Canal. . . HAROLD BANKSTON did some time in the North Atlantic and in the North Pacific and he wasn't chasing whales. . . so please, Honey, when you visit me here please don't expound too much on my cruising the Chicago River in my outboard motor boat.
RAYMOND MAZALEWSKI got quite a thrill out of his Hampton Beach sunburn when the corpsman told the new V-12s coming into sick bay that he had been out on a raft in the Atlantic for 10 days. . . the will have to dim those neon lights in the Oxford or more of us will get burnt too.
HENRY MAXWELL went around school the entire day before he noticed that someone had changed his name tag to "RIN TIN TIN". . . would that have made his "wolfing" legitimate? . . . and speaking of women. . . Platoon Seven of Charlie lost two more to the fair sex when CHARLEY RITT and BOB SPORE tied the knot to gals named "HELEN". . . any way, its one method of getting a leave.
BILL RYAN'S familiar wail, "Never again" will still echo in the East End of Grays for the move order applied mostly to the lads in Middle Grays. . . It's not a play on words for when HOMER SMITH got to bat the other day he really did clout a "home: in that game between Seven and Six. . . he made Seven come eleven. . . ALTER OLLEN ran another Smoker for Charlie the other nite and he surely must have made enough money by now to get married. . . We are still waiting for a week to go by when BURWELL PALM will not ask at least ten questions in class trying to improve the professors.
