With all proceeds going to the Red Cross, the eighth annual University tennis tournament will get under way tomorrow at the Jarvis and Business School courts. Entries close today at the Tennis and Squash Shop for the three week contest.
The winners of the tourney, which is open to all servicemen stationed here and to all civilians now attending any part of the University, will be awarded certificates of merit. There will be no seeding of entries, and opponents will be drawn from a hat.
By the rules of this yea's tournament all players must supply their own tennis balls and act as their own referees. All matches but the finals will be two out of three; but the finals will go three out of five.
Twenty-six men have signed up at the Tennis and Squash Shop so far, paying their $1 entry fee, most of which will of to the Red Cross.
