Accounting for more than a third of the total sales of bonds and stamps in the Houses since last January, Kirkland House led the field with $4.582.45 worth of purchases to its credit out of a total of $13,490.05, Barney Bisgeier '46 announced last night.
Following closely, Winthrop contributed $4170.65 to the cause with Adams placing third to the tune of $2217.80. The other Houses lined up as follows: Lowell, $778.20, Leverett, $622.25, Dunster, $583.50, and Eliot, $535.10.
Bisgeier reported that the campaign inaugurated in the past few weeks, whereby the person responsible for the highest purchase of that seven day period would receive an autographed picture and personal letter from a selected movie star, has met with great success. Considerable increases have been noted over starless weeks with Deanna Durbin, Joan Leslie, and Mary Martin sharing the honors in this capacity. On the whole, the bonds and stamps drive has been very satisfactory, Biageier said.
