Williams, Pesky Face Nine; Crime-Lampy Revel Today

Seekers of spevin entertainment will find two choice liens on the bill at Soldiers Field this afternoon. For these who prefer their athletics on the formal ride an Amherst naval training nine, composed of such major league worthies as Red Williams Johnny Posky, Johnny Sain, and Buddy Gremp, will oppose the Harvard team in a game scheduled for 4 o'clock.

A more hilarious note will be struck on an adjoining diamond, where takes place the traditional, beer-soaked brawl between the Crimson, Harvard's journalistic crusader for the right, and the Lampoon, alleged humorous magazine whose horrendous edifice has besmirched the fair appearance of Bow and Mt. Auburn Streets since the 1870's.

The Amherst nine will be playing its first game of the season against the College boys. Williams, who has not yet recovered from a hernia operation, is only to manage and coach the team, although he may be called upon to pinchhit. Pesky, sensational shortstop for the Red Sox last year, needs no formal introduction to baseball fans, and will be at his regular position.

Sain, a left-handed who toiled for Casey Stengel's Braves last year, will probably be on the mound. His receiver will be Fred Naumetz, co-captain of the Boston College football team last fall. Buddy Gremp, who guarded the initial sack for the Braves last year, is Amherst's first baseman.

Second baseman is Mickey Connelly, Naumetz's teammate on the B. C. eleven last fall. Also on the Amherst roster are Joe Coleman, rookie hurler for the Athletics, and Joe Cullane, ex-Pirate hopeful
