MAY 26 SET FOR CLASS DAY; EVERTS CHAIRMAN

Baldwin, O'Neill to Serve on Committee

A full year ahead of schedule, the 1944 Class Day exercises will take place Wednesday, May 26, the day preceding the traditional graduation rites, the 1944 Class Day Committee announced yesterday.

The committee also revealed the names of several newly-appointed class officials. Albert P. Everts '44 of Winthrop House and Newtonville was chosen new head of the committee and Grover O'Neill, Jr. '44 of 5 Linden Street and Oyster Bay, L. I.; and David Baldwin '44 of Leverett House and Belmont were added to its membership. O'Neill and Baldwin were runners-up for the post in the class elections and will replace members who have left College.

Richard N. Swift of Adams House and Bloomfield, N. J., will replace John R. Moskin, who is now in the service, as Class Odist in the only change in the Class Day schedule. Responsible for planning and directing the '44 dance Wednesday evening is Stephen W. Gifford of 59 Plympton Street and Duxbury, new dance committee chairman.

Tentative Schedule

The tentative schedule for the day calls for the traditional rites to begin at 2:30 o'clock, followed by a buffet supper and the annual Senior Spread in the evening. Thursday morning's activities will include a combined Baccalaureate sermon and regular church services in Appleton Chapel.

Commencement exercises are scheduled for the afternoon, and festivities will be brought to a riotous close by a gathering of all the alumni.

New addition to the Commencement Services will be the presentation of reserve commissions to graduating members of the Naval Science unit. The committee announced that the entire graduate functions are open to any remaining members of the Class of 1943.
