Preparations for the seventh edition of the Navy Supply Corps Yearbook passed their first phase last week as appointments to the editorial and business staffs were made and the student officers submitted their selections of the proofs of the pictures which had been submitted to them the previous week.
Ens. Alfred F. Connors of Class A was appointed on Feb. 24 by Lt. F. J. Roberts, SC, USN, as editor of the prospective book. As associate editor was named Ens. G. A. Otter, Jr., of Class D. Ens. William E. Young of Class E will be business manager.
One of the first steps taken by the new staff was the appointment in each class of representatives for the yearbook. Ens. Robert E. Gates was designated as representative of Class B. Ens. Howard Mason will represent Class C. Class E's agent will be Ens. Edward A. Woleslagel.
Cooperation-Needed
"In each class," the editor stressed, "is a person who can speak authoritatively for the Yearbook. If he doesn't know the answer to your question, he can find it out for you. It is especially important that the utmost cooperation be given each representative, for in the publishing of a Yearbook where time is so limited as it is here, the job can be accomplished only by the full and vigorous support of the staff by all officers.
"If you have a special talent, volunteer your efforts. If you have a typewriter and can type, donate a half hour a week to the Yearbook. If you like to take snapshots, take them of members of your class, of activities and surroundings of the school. About two or three hundred pictures will be needed for the book. We may be able to use yours."
The book is also looking for cartoonists. From sketches which float around the class rooms, there seems to be a goodly number of officers with ability. Any of them who wish to be considered for sketching for the Yearbook should submit copies of their work to any members of the staff or their class representatives.
A few officers have not yet returned their proofs. If they are not returned today or tomorrow, it is doubtful if they can be included in the Yearbook.
