Poor John Hancock! As frisky as a cocker spaniel three weeks old when he walked into Carpenter last Saturday morning, he drizzled out with all the give of a wet dish rag after one look at the standings so blatantly evident on each class bulletin board.

"Shucks, just what criterion are exams anyway," he muttered to no one in particular. "For years I've been attending school and come each new disbursing class and sure as shooting out to the California I go again! There just ain't no justice. Now, if they'd only make it the North Carolina for a change . . ." Then he must have thought of those standings for his face started to dribble down his shirt front again. Poor John! East Coast, West Coast . . . West Coast, East Coast . . . no wonder he's lost track of the war we're in! . .

Bill Cole tried a shot of incoming-wife past weekend, Nothing like it for that old lowdown feeling, he argues. . . . Bob Brinker and his rental allowance made the try to Harford, Conn. last Saturday. Seems Bob wanted a taste of big city life again after six days of calithenics, disbursing ashore, and how much mileage Benjamin Franklin got from Boston to Philadelphia if he left before he started and new orders arrived while he was asking Congress for leave in New York, Just to make it good, make his plane break down somewhere along the line and give him a state room on a horse and buggy.

Buck up, laddies. Life to still worth while. The class book will go to press in a week or so with YOUR snapshots in it and one hundred fifty (Count 'om! One hundred fifty!) new WAVES will overflow into Cambridge before you've had a chance to forget your April Foel's Day Jokes.

Class A is betting on an acquittal in the "mock trial" which will be held today in Potter Auditorium. The cast is headed by Busby, Davison, Brown, Donelly and company. "Jedge" Jeffery will preside.

Speaking of April 1st reminds us of the event of the day. Payment for all classbooks wil be accepted that day by class representatives. Don't bother putting the money in your pocket. Less trouble if you just pass it from Pay to you book collector. Absolutely no fifties will be changed!

Saay, just what does an officer get if he is three quarters of the way to Oshkosh, gets sent to Paducah, calls up his wife from Bloomfield and finds that half an hour after the effective date of his orders she started for Charleston? Would she . . . well . . . uh . . . better study it for the exam tomorrow, just to be sure.
