Sponsored by the Government Department, a Current Affairs Forum discussing "Democrats or Republicans in 1944?" will be open to students and faculty in the Lowell House Junior Common Room at 7:30 o'clock tonight.
Optimistic about the future of the Democratic party, Roland A. Young '38, instructor in Government and former secretary of the Senate Foreign Relations Committee, will uphold the Rooseveltians, while Charles R. Cherlington '35, instructor in Government, will present the merits of the Grand Old Party, Benjamin F. Wright, Jr., assistant professor of Government, will preside.
Only the chairman will be neutral in tonight's meeting, where student and faculty opinions will be encouraged by a poll at the end of the evening on the results of the discussions. Similar meetings have been established at Oxford and Cambridge Universities where weekly gatherings are held to discuss governmental policies and proceedings.
