A new Phillips Brooks House Committee, similar in function to its textbook loan library but dealing instead with works of art, has recently been established. The idea for the new committee was conceived by Richard N. Swift '44, president of P. B. H.
This art loan library obtains from museums and art collectors gifts and loans of famous works, both ancient and modern, which are framed by Fogg Museum and loaned to students at a moderate fee, for use in their rooms.
P. B. H. would like to get pictures from students who are about to leave College and will pay a moderate amount for those of any value. The payment exacted for the loan service should cover any cost run up in having the pictures framed and the purchase price of the prints, the committee says.
