GEN. MacARTHUR'S HEADQUARTERS, Australia--High military quarters said today there was "convincing evidence" that the Japanese were planning another stroke in the Southwest Pacific, possibly against Port Moresby, and it was admitted the Allies may make some aggressive move contemplated to upset the enemy's plans.
Taken together, these signs indicate a sharp flare-up in fighting in the Southwest Pacific may be near.
