Once there was a brand new 105M Howitzer, with a smooth hydropneumatic recoil and a lovely electric brake and a perfect panoramic sight. All the generals and all the men said, oh, what a nice new howitzer, it is just what we have needed, we are glad the government has sent it to us.
At first the howitzer worked well, and scored many hits. But after a while it got sloppy, and then the men said, oh; this how is no good--it doesn't fire the way we want. But the battery commander came along and said, of course it won't work. It's not oiled. If you want it to fire you have to keep oiling it, steadily, and you have to be responsible for it.
So please oil the HARVARD SERVICE NEWS. Please keep it firing the right way. It's for the service men around Harvard University, and unless you, the readers, contribute, it won't be any good to you. Let's keep it firing.
