Backing up an edict from the precinct warden concerning dimout compliance, Aldrich Durant, chief of Harvard's air raid wardens, last night labeled offenders as "irresponsible young men." At the same time he added that "on the whole," the dimont, controlled by Army order and complicated by the shift in starting items, had been fairly successful.
The dimout edict, which stressed the necessity for obedience to the Army's regulations and noted "several defects," made no mention of the area blackout that took place before Christmas vacation. Durant, however, stated that, as far as he knew, the test had been near perfect in the University and that he had received no complaints.
