Perhaps jealous of the Varsity's recent prowess, the Jayvee hockey team went on a scoring splurge of its own yesterday afternoon, drubbing the Andover sextet 10 to 2 at the Boston Skating Club rink.
It was the fourth straight victory for the Junior Varsity, which had little trouble in dealing with the Royal Blue. After an interesting first period which found the Crimson leading 4 to 2, the Jayvees kept the schoolboys at bay for the rest of the contest, racking up three goals in each of the final two stanzas.
Orrin "Schultz" Wood, with two goals, and John Crocker, who accounted for two goals and an assist, paced Skeets Canterbury's forces in scoring, while Gardner Lamsons stick-handling and goalie Doug Lenkoski's second and third period saves were also worthy of note. For Andover, a tough little man named Artie Moher was half the offense.
