Harvard men may gripe as much as they want to about conditioning four times a week, but take it from one who knows, that training is well worth while. Lieutenant Bill Neufeld, former Freshman track coach now stationed at the North Carolina Naval Pre-Flight School, can say that from his experience in both institutions.
Before Bill left Cambridge last spring, he had a hand in planning the present athletic system, and down in the home of the fearful Cloudbusters his duties have included assisting other colleges to set up programs similar to the one here.
Although the Air Cadets' routine is a good deal tougher than the undergraduates', Lf. Neufeld said that the college men do the same things that his new charges do, but while Harvard men condition four hours per week, the Cadets work out for five and one half hours daily.
