Freshmen now in College will be able to extend their vacations to Monday, September 28, Delmar Leighton '19, Dean of Freshmen, stated last night, announcing that the reading tests which would have brought much of the class back on Saturday have been postponed until the following Tuesday.

The move, which means that those Freshmen who entered in June will be treated as upperclassmen in the matter of registration, is also due to a conflict with the Navy football game that is to be held on Saturday afternoon.

Only Part to Live in Houses

Simultaneously, the Dean announced that it has been possible to place only a fraction of the Freshmen who are entering this month in the Houses. The majority of the class will be assigned to rooms in or near the Yard, but will be transferred to Houses as soon as there are places available.

"Except for a small number of incoming Freshmen chosen by lot for immediate assignment to rooms in the Houses, Freshmen entering in September have been assigned to rooms in Grays, Wigglesworth, Farlow, and Walker," he said.

All to Eat in Houses

"All men in the Freshman dormitories will be associated with the Houses. They will take their meals in the Houses to which they have been assigned."

Dean Leighton also announced the schedule for language examinations. A combined placement and reading requirement test in French will be held on Monday, September 28, at 9 o'clock, in the New Lecture Hall; while the reading examination in German will follow it in the same place at 11 o'clock
