To the Editors of the Crimson:
The position of the Masters in regard to the Stadent Council's proposal for an inter-House dance committee has been misunderstood. The Masters did not reject or "table" the plan, but referred it to the several House Committees for action. This they did because the Dunster House Committee had expressed objections to certain features of the plan and the Masters were reluctant to take action in a student matter while such an objection stood. A majority of the Masters were in favor of the plan, with only the objecting because be felt it was an attempt to centralize the otherwise autonomous Houses.
The plan now awaits the decision of the House Committees and it is the Council's hope that this decision will be made in the coming week. Thomas Matters '43. President of the Student Conncil.
