Niles chubb '43 of Lowell House and San Antonio, Texas, will be awarded the U. S. Field Artillery Medal, given annually "to the student who best exemplifies, in outstanding soldiery character, the high standards of the Army," this afternoon. At the same time, the Department of Military Science announced 42 other prizes to be presented to top-ranking men in the ROTC unit today.

The medal for "Interest and Zeal" will be given to Joseph M. Ambrose, while the Sons of the American Revolution Medal for excellence in the first year basic course will be received by Thomas V. Keene '45. Richard Ober '44 has won the medal offered by the same group for excellence in the second year course.

Awards Made

Spurs, the John Charles Hill Awards to the men who have made the most progress in equitation, in the first two classes will be given to Herbert C. McArthur '45 and Paul B. Akin '44, and the Robert H. Hallowell awards to the Junior who has shown the greatest improvement and the best horseman in the Senior class have been won by John M. Field '43 and Malcolm P. McNair Jr. '42.

Other prizes to be presented today include: Harvard ROTC Pistol Team Medal to James G. Hays Jr., '42; Harvard 1945 ROTC Pistol Team Medal to Guerdon H. Nelson '45; pistol expert medals to James G. Hays, Jr. '42, Thomas M. Cook '42, John L. Barber '45; and the Curtis Prize to the pistol that defeated the rival Navy unit last March.

Review This Afternoon

The awards will be given after the practice review this afternoon, postponed from yesterday because of the weather. At 3:30 o'clock today, the Naval ROTC, including the Navy Supply Corps, the Military ROTC, with the Quartermaster Corps, and the officers studying at the University, will march from the Yard to soldiers Field and stage a full dress rehearsal of the review as it is planned for Monday.
