Yardling minor sport teams do battle on three fronts this afternoon, the golf, tennis, and lacrosse squads seeing action. Coach Don Poddie's linksters open their season against M. I. T. at Oakley Country Club at 2 o'clock, Dick Dorson's racquet-wielding charges face Milton Academy at Milton, and George Hanford's stickman meet Lawrence Academy at the Business School Field.
Four Freshmen represent the Crimson on the links today against the Engineers. Teeing off '45 are George Nye, Walter Wilcox, Foster Boardman, and Paul Coste.
Individual and doubles combinations could not be released last night, but there will be four singles matches and two best-ball doubles.
Two Teams Play
Both the first and second tennis teams get in the fight at Milton. Dorson named his regular six in this order last night: Max Tufts, John Zinsser, Gene Sands, Dick Holtiqanger, Stan Collinson, and Steve Eaton. Five reserves will also made the jaunt, and they will oppose the Blue and Gold scrubs.
The lacrosse team will be out to keep up its pace, having won a convincing victory over M. I. T. Monday, and the steady improvement shown in recent engagements seems to indicate a second victory for the Hanford forces.
