Paced by Captain Tom Shrewsbury; who took a first and third place in the 220 and 100 yard free styles, Harvard's Varsity tankmen allowed Columbia only one first place in defeating the Lions 53 to 22 last Saturday night.
At the same time, the Crimson Yardlings failed in an attempt to gain their seventh victory of the current campaign when they went down to defeat before what is said to be Dartmouth's strongest Freshman squad in history by a score of 58 to 17.
"Big John" Eusden was once again a double winner or the Varsity mermen, taking both the 50 and 100 yard free styles from David St. John, the Lions' highly-touted, ace free styles. In the 50, Eusden turned in a time of 24.3 seconds, which represents the best he has done in any meet during the present season.
Captain George Simihtsi was responsible for Columbia's only first place, winning the 200 yard breaststroke in two minutes and 35.3 seconds. The Varsity Summary:
