YALE WHIPS BOTH WRESTLING TEAMS

Elis Crush Varsity, 27-3; Defeat Freshmen, 26-6

Two Harvard wrestling teams totaled nine points in their Yale meets yesterday afternoon in the Indoor Athletic Building as the Blue whipped the Varsity, 27-3, and the Freshmen, 26-6.

In both meets the Eli grapplers were as superior as the score indicates. For the Crimson Varsity, 121-pound Sophomore Ted Guild was the only wrestler to take a match as he won a 9-3 decision over Johnny Garvan.

Yale Takes Three Falls

Of the other seven Harvard entries, Breck Marshall, Harry Blaine, and Lee Sosman were felled by their opponents while Captain Dick Thomas, Don Miles, Doug Burns, and Tom Rogstad lost by decisions.

For the Freshmen, Captain Charlie Gudaitis in the 175-pound class and Gus Hemenway in the 155 won by decisions of 6-4 and 14-11 respectively. Those were the only points the Yardlings were able to take from the powerful Yale squad over which the Crimson was predicted earlier to have a chance for victory.

The Blues beat Fred Greenhalge, Ed Rothman, Al Day, and Frank French by falls and won over Al Page and Dick Albion by close margins on referee's decisions.

Saturday the Varsity matmen will enter the New England Championships at Wesleyan College, but do not expect to send any men to the Easterns the following week. The Yale encounter completes the dual-meet season.
