Competing against the greatest aggregation of swimmers ever assembled in collegiate history, Harvard, together with 14 other colleges, could do little to prevent Yale from taking 10 out of a possible 11 titles in the Eastern Intercollegiates which took place over the weekend at New Haven.

Of the six Crimson entries, Captain-elect Bill Drucker and Bus Curwen were the only tankmen to place. Drucker garnered a third behind Danny Dannenbaum of Yale and Tom Shand of Princeton in the 150 yard backstroke with the sparkling time of 1:37.7, only eight-tenths of a second slower than the winning pace.

After qualifying for the finals with a time of 2:31.8, the best he has done this season, Curwen finished up sixth in the final heat, which was taken by the Eli's Jack Meyer in 2:24.5, one-tenth of a second faster than Princeton's Dick Hough did it in the 1939 meet.
