Squash Team Falters In Eli Intercollegiates

The Varsity squash team turned in a poor showing in the Intercollegiates at New Haven Saturday, with Gaelen Felt, numbers one, losing to Bill Couley, Yale's dark horse, in the first round, and all the other Harvard entrants going under before the fourth round. Charlie Brinton of Princeton, national champion for the second year in a row, and defending intercollegiate champion, won the tournament without dropping a game. Couley, ranking four for Yale, was the surprise entry, beating Felt in the first round, trimming Yale's number one, and losing only to Brinton in the finals.

Felt's match with Couley, marked by Couley's hard hitting and terrific serve, was the best of the tournament, according to Coach Jack Barnaby.
