A capacity crowd of 1,500 soldiers witnessed the Pi Eta Club's second performance of "Blondes of Defense" last night at Fort Devens. Men crowded the training camp theatre an hour in advance of curtain time, and approved whole-heartedly of the entire show, according to a report received at the CRIMSON late last evening.

So well costumed were the actors who took female roles in the production that most of the audience was deceived as to their sex for a long time. When they learned the truth there was much complaining on all sides, a typical remark being, "Aw gee, we didn't think it was them kind of blondes." One poor confused selectee even went so far as to proffer a bouquet of flowers to the leading "lady," Dick Whittemore.

Colonel William A. Smith, post commander, sat in the front row throughout the performance, and mounted the stage to congratulate the cast on a "magnificent show" when it had ended.
