Coach John Chase's undefeated Freshman hockey team claimed its sixth successive victim Saturday night, repelling a hard-fighting Exeter sextet 4 to 2 at the Boston Skating Club.
Art Lee, Yardling wing, who had been bedridden with a cold, lost little time in proving his fitness. He took a pass from Captain Dick Mechem to register the first Crimson goal for the only score in the opening period.
Erdman Leads Exonians
Charley Erdman, who proved a thorn in the side for the Chasemen all night, tied up the score early in the second stanza, but Steve Glidden converted a pass from Jim Apthorp to reassume the lead for the '45 outfit. Erdman's second goal brought about another deadlock, and Mechem later scored on an assist from Ned Harding for what proved to be the winning tally.
The fourth Crimson goal came in the final period, when Bill Hamlen beat the Exonian goalie after receiving a pass from Mechem, who has accounted for three goals and two assists in the last two Yardling triumphs.
