To the Editors of the Crimson:
In behalf of the 374 students who signed the petition against the May amendment to the 18 and 19-Year Old Draft Bill. I congratulate the Student Council for its telegram to Congressman May expressing opposition to this amendment. The response I met while circulating the petition indicates that in this step they truly represent the opinion of the student body. It is gratifying to a new Freshman to find Harvard has a student government capable of such prompt action. With the College so squarely behind the war effort, it seems that expressions of this kind should continue. Chandler Davis '46
