Jayvees Play Coast Guard

In a preliminary game to the Varsity exhibition match, the Jayvee five meets the Coast Guard reserve aggregation at 7 o'clock tomorrow at the Indoor Athletic building gym. Floyd Stahl's squad faces its first test of actual competition against the Boston station's team in a contest that will be marked by the inauguration of the new Freshman eligibility rule in winter athletic annals.

With but three weeks of practice under its belt, the Junior squad will face the coast guarders, who have been working since the end of the summer. But Coach Stahl has a balanced live ready to face the Bostonians, and will shoot the works in his attempt to garner an opening victory.

Reed Moyer, second string pivot on last year's Freshman team, is fighting for that post with Jim Clark, and both will undoubtedly see action. Dick Fleckinger, forward from Indianapolis, and Dick Warren, high scorer in his Chicago loop, are other Yardling hoopsters who will see a lot of the action.

The rest of the Crimson lineup is very much in doubt, but Ray Eder. all Missouri guard, is a likely choice at one of the back slots. The current practice of dividing the squads completely, with the Varsity and Jayvees working separately, has given the mentors time to develop their teams individually, and thus both the second aggregation and the Varsity will enter tonight as well prepared as the shortened practice will allow.
