Coach Jack Barnaby's Varsity tennis team went down to a 5 to 1 defeat last Saturday afternoon at the hands of the powerful Pennsylvania team, Orme Wilson, beating Leo Bloom in the number five singles, accounted for the sole Crimson point as a sudden thunder storm cancelled all the doubles.
At the same time on Divinity Field, Coach Dick Dorson's Yardling team ended up its season with a 7 to 2 loss to Yale with McDonald and Scanlon, playing five and six singles, the only Crimson victors. McDonald defeated Malo 6-0, 6-8, 6-2, while Scanlon defeated Brasch 6-3, 5-7, 7-5. Yale won the first four singles as Cooley defeated Cohn, McKenna defeated Hyde, Burgwin defeated Kissell and Ford defeated Sorlien.
The Blue swept the doubles as McKenna and Cooley defeated Hyde and Beebe, Ford and Burgwin defeated Forsie and Drake, and Malo and Brasch defated Muldoon and Legum.
