CRIMSON COMPETITIONS GIVES CHANCE TO FLEE CLAMMY GRIP OF SPRING FEVER

Short Competition For All Boards Opens Tomorrow For 1944 and 1943

Ready to give a glad hand and a foaming stein of beer to all Freshmen and Sophomores who can find their way to 14 Plympton Street, the Editors of the CRIMSON will be on hand tomorrow night to welcome all aspirants to the various boards, News, Business, Editorial, or Photographic.

The class of '43 will have a final chance to get on the CRIMSON by making the Editorial Board, while, for the first time, all four boards are open to Yardlings, the News board for the last time.

If you got E in English A you will learn how to write, if you get A you should put your ability to work. If you don't take English A you are the man we are looking for. Under any condition, step over tomorrow night and have one on the CRIMSON while getting an inside view on the inner workings of "Cambridge's only breakfast table daily."

"Why come out for the CRIMSON?" you ask. The answers are many and obvious. You meet many new people both inside the University and out. You find out many things about Harvard you never knew before. You have an excuse you never otherwise have to stick your nose into places and meet professors, University officials, and other famous personages. You can get free tickets to movies and other events, and you will never be better known in your own and in other classes.

Don't feel discouraged if you never have had writing experience or been connected with a newspaper. No pre-experience is required or expected. You don't have to be a super-salesman, photographer, or a an ex-editor-in-chief of a school newspaper. Every year men got on the boards who have never sold an inch of advertising or had a line of news in any paper.
