THE MAIL

To the Editor of the Crimson:

It was gratifying to read your story of the forthcoming Yale Conference on Government Careers. It is not simply happenstance that our New Haven competitors should be performing such a desirable service to New England college students.

Last year PBH and Harvard paved the way by holding an intercollegiate conference on careers, attended by 300 students, professors, and public leaders. The long-range results were that a program of summer apprenticeships for college students was started by the U. S. Housing Authority; a professional counselor for vocational information was appointed by PBH; and a permanent intercollegiate committee was formed to perpetuate the Harvard program.

A group of students from Yale are this year continuing the work with another Conference on Government Careers. Because they feel a certain responsibility to Harvard for fathering the program, the Cambridge delegation will be unlimited, but applications must be forwarded by Monday, April 14. They can be obtained from me, or from the PBH secretary. Lincoln P. Bloomfield '41,
