Candidates for the Smoker and Jubilee Committees of the Freshman Class met last night in the Union and heard George E. Putnam, Jr. '43, one of the two counsellors for Freshman affairs, tell them the duties of the two committees. Putnam warned that anyone not in good standing with the Dean's office should hesitate before volunteering since the work is hard and takes a lot of time. According to George A. Saxton '44, Chairman of the Union Committee, 35 candidates gave him their names at the meeting.
