Former Aquaintance Swindles Freshman

Two warrants were issued by the Cambridge police yesterday charging a former Rutgers student with swindling Clyde N. Wilson '44.

The forger allegedly stole the Freshman's Bursar's and Coop cards and, using these as identification, cashed checks and charged clothes at the Coop to the extent of $245.

Wilson met the forger just before Christmas vacation at a party. They became such good friends that the man spent a recent week with him here in Cambridge. But a few days after the swindler left here, the Coop discovered the forgery and questioned Wilson.

It was revealed that the checks had been drawn against a non-existent account in a New York bank, Wilson's endorsement being forged. The checks were then cashed at the Coop using the Yardling's card as a credential.
