They tacked a new name on Harvard's Athletic Director yesterday afternoon. And new he's William J. "One-play" Bingham '16.
It all happened when Dick Harlow asked Bingham to take the famed Harlow tin whistle and give it a blast whenever the ball was downed. On the first play the ball was snapped, backs spun, and Bingham raced down the left side of the field.
But the ball was on the other side, and it was a full 30 seconds before Bingham knew it. The "beep" never came.
That meant only one thing--the showers for Bingham. Harlow yanked him and in went a new man. Never again will "One-play" Bingham play left whistle-back on a Harlow-coached team.
