Coach Wes Fesler's high flying undefeated basketball forces run into their toughest snag thus far in the season as they encounter a powerful Army team at 3:30 o'clock this afternoon at West Point. At he same time at Milton, Skip Stahley's Yardlings will face Milton Academy.
Today's game will be the last non-league match before the team jumps into the league schedule here Friday against the championship Dartmouth team. It is the fifth game of the present season, which now includes four victories and no defeats against M.I.T., Brown, Wesleyan and Northeastern.
Opener for Army
Very little is known about this year's Army forces since this full will be their first game this season. Last year, however, they trounced the Crimson 45 to 34 and became one of the few teams ever to defeat Dartmouth on its home floor at Hanover.
Although Vaughn and Gillem, with 17 and 10 points in last year's Harvard game, have graduated, Coach Dutch Lentz has a host of excellent Sophomores who played last year on one of the best Freshman squads in West Point basketball history.
Same Lineup
The Feslermen, who have been practicing twice a day since Thursday to regain their pre-vacation stride, will field the same starting lineup that has started every game this season. Captain Franny Simpson and Joe Romano will start at forwards, Ed Rothchild at center, and Bud Finegan and Ed Buckley at guards.
The whole squad, including Coach Fesler, has been hit by the flu and consequently is not it top physical health. The only regular, however, on either the first or second team not making the trip is Bob James, who has not yet sufficiently recovered from a vacation illness. Don McSweeney will substitute for him.
