Selected for their promise of notable contribution to thought and knowledge, seven Junior Fellows have been appointed for three year terms, the University announced Saturday.

Given free board and room, a yearly stipend of $1,250 to $1,500, and access to all the University library, lecture, and laboratory facilities, the Junior Fellows are expected to devote their whole time to productive scholarship, free from academic regulations for degrees.

Included in the appointments were: S. Howard Armstrong Jr., of New York City, M.D. '37; Donald R. Griffin, B.S. '38; John A. Moore, of Clayton, Mo., A.B. '38; Francis M. Rogers, of New Bedford, A.M. '37; and James G. Baker, of Shelbyville, Ky., M.A. '36 (appointment renewed)

The appointments were split evenly among the College, Graduate Schools, and non-University affiliations.
