Hockey Coach Clark Hodder yesterday urged the formation of an Ivy League for hockey as a substitute for the International Intercollegiate Ice Hockey League which was recently dissolved.
Pointing out that many Ivy colleges recently have constructed rinks and organized teams, Hodder claimed that formal league competition will soon be possible. He added that Harvard will play Army next year, "a step in the right direction towards increasing the number of our American competitors."
Canadian Teams Too Good
The International Intercollegiate Ice Hockey League, commonly called the Three I League, broke up, according to Hodder, because there is no "fair basis" for league competition with Canadian teams which have far superior material to draw from and different eligibility rules.
