The Yardling nine opened with three runs in the first inning and held onto their slim lead to nose out the Brown Freshmen by a 6 to 4 count in a game played at Providence yesterday afternoon.
Bob Lusskin opened on the hill for the Samborskimen and held the Bruins well under control until Joe Phelan relieved him late in the game.
