To the Editor of the Crimson.
This is to clarify a point in your story in yesterday's paper on the La Guardia meeting.
In so far as Brooks House is concerned there is little justification for the term "double-cross," used to characterize Mr. Marvin's actions. Brooks House was interested in securing the Mayor for a speech at our conference and hoped that he could appear either Friday or Saturday. We combined our invitation with that of Mr. Marvin, and we were naturally disappointed to learn from Marvin who carried on the correspondence that the Mayor simply was not available for either of these two days. We do, however, think that what Mayor La Guardia has to say is of paramount importance. We were therefore glad to assist in sponsoring the address even though it did not coincide with our conference. If the Mayor couldn't come, he couldn't come, and neither Marvin nor Brooks House could change that. Raymond Dennett. Graduate Secretary, P.B.H.
