ADAMS HOUSE GAMBLING HELL RAIDED BY VIGILANTE GROUP

Raided today by the Harvard Watch and Ward Society was the Adams House gambling hell operated by Harry Newman and Robert H. Orchard, both Sophomores.

The case was "broken" when J. Cameron Blagden '42 was walking past the southeast corner of Westmorly Court and looking up at the clock, saw what he described as "the hands beginning to move a little, then faster, pretty soon going about 50 miles an hour, then becoming at iridescent blur."

Investigators found that Orchard and Newman had revised the works of the clock which extends into their room, so that it can be made to work like a roulette wheel from the weight of the 50-lb, drops.

"We made a $30 profit after paying our fine," said Orchard gleefully last night.
