DATE BUREAU FOUNDER FOILED IN CAMPAIGN FOR PRESIDENT

Besides ending class elections last Tuesday, the Freshman referendum also mysteriously ended Harvard's newest and shortest-lived date bureau.

In a discussion with a group of friends last night, Arthur S. Harris, Jr. '43, instigator of the bureau, admitted that his sole aim in starting the idea was to use the publicity to boost himself for president of his class.

The referendum, however, crushed his high hopes.

Not affected by referendums, Harris' Radcliffe representative severed her connections to take up duties as newly elected treasurer of her class at Radcliffe.
