"Industrialization of Latin America" will be the topic under discussion tonight at 8 o'clock at the Pan-American Club. This will be the first of an informal series of public meetings designed to coordinate interest in South American affairs at Harvard.
The discussion will feature an address by Clarence H. Haring '07, Bliss Professor of Latin-American History. Professor Haring will discuss social problems caused by the rapid growth of industry in Latin America.
This is the first cooperative effort of three groups actively concerned with Pan-American questions. The Ambas Americas, a "self educating" organization based on a similar group at Dartmouth, and the Pan-American Club are newly formed societies at Harvard; while the older Spanish Club specializes in the Spanish language and "Good Will" activities.
