DUBLIN--Prime Minister Eamon De Valera tonight bluntly rejected British demands for Irish naval bases and said that any attempt to seize the ports would lead "only to bloodshed."

We have the ports and don't intend to give them back," he told Parliament. "There can be no question of handing them over as long as this nation remains neutral."

WASHINGTON --Great Britain's Royal Flying corps may soon be augmented by several hundred hard-hitting, American warplanes, it was believed tonight after President Roosevelt conferred with the National Defense Commission.

Prior to the election Mr. Roosevelt made no secret of his plans for increased aid to Britain, and now that the nation has voted confidence in his foreign policies, it was believed he intends to more swiftly
