Muscie Bruise Keeps MacKinney From Crucial Practice Sessions

Star End Ready To Go Against Penn; Brown, Waldstein in Battle

Loren MacKinney was added to the acroll of maimed and injured players yesterday, but according to the medicos, he will probably be fit as a Stradivarius and ready to partake on Saturday against Penn.

Dick Harlow's valuable and versatile end, who in the last few games has not been satisfied with acting as the spark plug of the Crimson team, but has taken over the duties of magnate, carburetor and generator in the bargain, suffered a muscle bruise in the Princeton mud Saturday. The injury is not serious but will be just enough to keep him out of crucial workouts for the Penn struggle.

The pride of Chapel Hill joins Captain Gardella on the medical list. Gardella was back in uniform yesterday, jogging around the practice gride on the heels of diminutive Jimmy Cox, the trainer, but he is still far from ready for any heavy contact work. MacKinney also restricted his operations for the day to jogging.

31 Players Make Trip

Third-string tailback Cliff Helman was added to the re-jerseyed Varsity squad yesterday as it was announced that a delegation of 31' players will make the trip to the City of Brotherly Love. The squad will leave Boston shortly after midnight on Thursday and will practice on Franklin Field early Friday afternoon.
