Over 200 Radcliffe students and alumnae have signed a petition protesting the recent termination of appointments of ten assistant professors in the University.
The petition was started by members of the Radcliffe chapter of Phi Beta Kappa and signed by over half its members. Circulators of the petition call petition call themseles the Emergency Protest Committee and will send it to President Conant and the members of the Committee of Eight when hey have gathered more signatures, they said.
They claim that the administration's action is crippling education at Radcliffe, which is taught by the Harvard Faculty.
