One of the world's finest collections of keyboard music, especially of organ music, has been assembled by Harvard University in a new Isham Memorial Library of Organ Music in the Memorial Church, the University announced today. The Library will be dedicated as part of the ceremonies of Commencement Day, June 22.
Particularly designed for reference work by scholars, the library contains some six hundred volumes of keyboard music dating from about the year 1500. The complete range of organ music is covered, with the works of all major composers for the organ included. The collection is steadily growing. The new room in which it is housed is paneled in English oak. A Tintoretto painting. "The Angel Choir," was given by Mrs. Isham for the room.
