Winning only one first place, but copping four out of seven of the second positions and more than their share of thirds and fourths, Lowell House ran up a 15 point lead over its nearest rival, Leverett, in the field events division of the inter-House track meet yesterday afternoon, and appears likely to repeat its triumph of last year.

Led by Dickey Dyer with seconds in the shot put and hammer throw and Hobey Lerner's first in the broad jump, the Bellboys amassed 33 1-2 points. Leverett, with 18 1-2, was closely followed by Winthrop and Kirkland, each with 18. All of Winthrop's points were won on three first places, Erny Fuller's in the javelin, C. D'Autremont's in the pole vault, and Bob Campbell's in the discus.

Eliot placed fifth with 14 points, Dunster sixth with ten, while Adams and Dudley failed to score. The track events will be run off this afternoon starting at 2:30 o'clock.

Other first places were taken by Dave Wilson of Leverett in the high jump, Johnny Tucker of Leverett in the 12-pound shot put, and Phil Smith of Dunster in the 12-pound hammer.
