Cornell's Walt Sickles had a world of stuff yesterday afternoon as he pitched the Big Red into undisputed League leadership with a 4 to 0 victory over the Crimson nine in Ithaca.

The Cornell Sophomore was master of the situation at all times as he throttled the powerful Harvard attack completely, yielding but four base hits and never allowing a runner to reach third. In fact, only twice did the Stahlmen get men as far as second base, and on both occasions two men had already been retired.

The Ithacans started off with a cheap counter in the second canto when Scholl got life as Fred Keyes uncorked a wild heave to Lupien on the Cornell third sacker's bounder to short. Scholl went to second on the play and came all the way home while Healey was fumbling Matuszezak's bunt.

In the third, Bowen singled to start things off for the Big Red and scored ahead of George Polzer when the latter poled out a long homer far over Gene Lovett's head in deep left field. Healey was driven from the box in the fourth as Finneran and Brown connected for singles with a sacrifice hit by Sickles sandwiched in between to account for a run.

Curtiss Stars

Slim Curtiss pitched brilliantly in relief, allowing but two bingles to the Redmen over the five innings he toiled. In the fifth the Crimson threatened with Bob Fulton and Art Johns on first and second with two down, but Dick Gannett grounded out to end the frame.
