Bellboy Nine Defeats Adams 19-14 in Heavy Hitting Game

Winners Travel to New Haven Saturday To Meet Eli Champions

Spotting the Adams nine five unearned tailies in the first inning, a powerful Lowell House team struck back with telling blows and won the right to meet the championship Eli team at New Haven Saturday by trouncing the Gold Coasters 19 to 14.

Adams got enough runs to win most games in that first frame, but usually reliable twirler Charley Lutz was as wild as a March hare and handed out six successive free passes in the second. His successor, Irv Lewis, was hit freely throughout the entire contest.

Lowell collected nine runs in that hectic second canto and pushed across five more in the fourth to put the game on ice. Adams rallied occasionally, but Bellboy pitcher Dick Story had things well in hand most of the time. Fielding lapses accounted for many of the Adams scores.

Lowell's hitting stars of the game were Robin Scully, Joe Lyford, and Wally Liverance. Center fielder Mel Gordon shone defensively.
